Janine Ramos - http://musicofjug.cjb.net - listen to her solo tracks.
Jug Honeyluv is the first female rapper/singer
who came out with an album in the Philippines as a member of a Hiphop/R&B group called, 4 East Flava. There were other
female solo mc's before her, though. However, during the outbreak of Filipino Hiphop groups in the early 90s, she was the
only active female MC at the time. Her experiences as an artist started long before that time. Becoming the only "lady rapper"
of that time was something that came as a surprise to her. While vacationing in her native country, a groupmate approached
her to be part of the Hiphop group. Before that, she was offered to be part of an all-girl R&B/Hiphop group, just like
TLC. It was the start of a dream come true for Jug. Since the age of 3, Jug, as what her family and friends call her, has
been singing and performing in front of people. She's always dreamed of becoming a singer and a successful musician someday.
That's in her high school yearbook. Growing up as a teenager in NY has influenced her in a lot of ways, including the preference
of listening and appreciating R&B/Hiphop music. Since that time, not to mention her other interests such as musical theater,
she has always been working towards her goal: to become just like the artists who she listens to! Not in the manner of style
or "copying" the artist, but in the artists' achievement of evolving into a success story: fulfilling his/her dream to be
a singer, artist, rapper or musician. And so goes history for Jug. Being given the chance to be a Rap/R&B recording artist
in her native land boosted her confidence and, furthermore, encouraged her to go for what she's always wanted. As an artist
in the Philippine's Jug has had the priveledge of performing along side the country's top recording artists and respected
musicians, such as Kulay, Lloyd Umali, Introvoyz, Ima Castro, Jude Michael, Rivermaya, After Image, fellow hiphop artists,
Mastaplann, Death Threat, Legit Misfitz, and many more. She's had the chance to meet very influential people in the Music
industry due to her talent and undying effort to succeed. These meetings and affiliations with them has given her the experience
and knowledge which are necessary to go up a step further towards her goal. Credits include two full-length albums as a member
of 4 East Flava: TOO MUCH FLAVA released in 1994 (Polycosmic Records) and the latest one, BUTTA-FLAVA 1, released independently
(Full House Records and Butta-Flava Entertainment). In addition, she has appeared with her group in a commercial for shoes,
which they endorsed. In related matters, she is also a vocal coach who teaches at her own center and also offers her services
to different schools as extra-curricular activities.

Gazelle
Lovely - http://www.gazelle.2ya.com - listen to some of her songs.
I am GAZELLE and I'm a member of BUTTA-FLAVA, an R&B/HipHop group from the Philippines. We independently
came out with an album last December, Butta-Flava 1. GAZELLE is my name and I use it on my solo gigs. When I'm with my groupmates,
we use the name, BUTTA-FLAVA. I always sing live everytime I perform (as a solo or as a group member) in clubs, bars, special
events, concerts, fiestas, & in special occasions. Performing is one of the most enjoyable things for me to do. I started
singing as a child, joining competitions in church & in school. When I turned 14, I became a member of an R&B teen
group named 4 SOUL. At the age of 15, I recorded a duet & a Christmas song under Quantum Records in the Philippines. I
also did back-up for Kulay's song "Magbago" for the album "Flavor of the Moment" under Octo-arts Records, also in the Philippines. At
the age of 18, we started recording for the BUTTA-FLAVA 1 Compilation Album. I became part of this group through Jug Honeyluv
who was formerly the singer/rapper of 4 EAST FLAVA, one of the Philippine's most known rap groups in the early 90's. She was
also my vocal coach and the manager of 4 Soul. After 3 long years, the album is finally out. I love R&B a lot as
well as Jazz, Soul, & easy-listening music. Some of my influences are En Vogue, Destiny's Child, Aaliyah, TLC, Sade, Mariah
Carey and of course Lea Salonga. Aside from performing, I also teach voice & stage performance lessons to children as
well as adults. I do vocal arranging and I also compose melodies. As a child, I studied a little piano. My training experiences
include church activities (choir), solo voice lessons as a child, R&B group training & experiences as a teenager,
solo performances at numerous events, and now, as a member of Philippine recording artists, Butta-Flava.
